Prof. Hana Pravdová studied at the Faculty of Philosophy, Comenius University in Bratislava where she accomplished her master and postgraduate studies in the area of culturology. She habilitated and inaguretated at the Faculty of Mass Media Communication, University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava in the area of mass media studies.
As an active journalist, she has worked for television, daily journal and advertising agency at various positions – editor of section for culture and domestic political affairs, editor-in-chief and assistant.
At present she works at the Faculty of Mass Media Communication, University of Ss. Cyril and Methodius in Trnava. Within her scientific and educational activities she deals with the issues of journalistic genres, the system and work organization in periodical press, media culture, mass and popular culture, games in the history of cultures.
She is the author of several monographs, university textbooks and number of scientific and professional studies published in Slovakia and abroad. At the Faculty of Mass Media Communication she is head of the Linguistic Communication Department.
She is also a member of the editorial professional board of the scientific journals Communication Today, Acta Ludologica, Media Literacy and Academic Research, EJMAP and editorial board of the periodical for political and social sciences Civitas.
